The PlanIt Process(tm) 

The PlanIt Process(tm) is a staged approach to creating content that is similar to the life-cycle approaches used in other areas of business development.

The foundation of this process is analysis: analysis of every bit of information we can get our hands on. Without the analysis, we won't be able to help you optimize your resources and get the return on investment (ROI) you want. With a thorough analysis as the foundation, however, we can make informed decisions about what to do, develop a truly systematized approach to creating and reusing content, improve productivity and cut costs.

• AnalyzeIt--questioning everything that affects the development and delivery of the content, then setting clear goals and objectives for moving forward
• SpecIt--developing detailed plans that ensure that the goals and objectives established during the AnalyzeIt stage are met
• DesignIt--developing working prototypes of what is needed to deliver an information set
• UseIt--putting ideas, plans, tools and technology into action
• EvaluateIt--reviewing everything that has happened in the previous stages, keeping what worked well, modifying what didn't go as planned and, if necessary, going back to the other stages to make changes
• MaintainIt--settling in and following the process designed in earlier phases, keeping the tools and technology up to date, making sure that the support materials are accurate, and enjoying the fruits of your efforts

In an ideal world, each stage is completed prior to starting a subsequent stage. In practice, however, the stages are sometimes blurred or we must compress them into fewer stages so that we can meet project deadlines. However, we try to never skimp on the analysis since that's the stage lays the foundation for everything else we do.
